Hi there, I’m jae lethe (he/she/they), a multi-faceted audio engineer with decades of experience in mixing and mastering, songwriting, and sound design. My passion for music spans countless genres and artists, and my keen ear for detail and creative flair has led me to become an expert in crafting unique and impactful soundscapes. As an alumnus of The Recording Workshop in Ohio, I am a highly trained professional with an unwavering commitment to delivering sonic excellence. I offer a wide range of services including mixing, mastering, tracking, production, sound design, and songwriting, and I’m dedicated to elevating your project to new heights. Specializing in remote work, I can cater to clients worldwide, ensuring that your music receives the personalized attention and expertise it deserves. Whether you’re an up-and-coming artist or a seasoned professional, I’m ready to collaborate with you to turn your musical vision into a reality.
What sets me apart from other mixing/mastering engineers?
My tastes are eclectic and vary widely, spanning most genres. My favorite records are ones which are mixed creatively, with action and motion and excitement.
While I’m very easy to get along with, I do have opinions on music, which I use to guide things along, while also paying close attention to your specific needs.
I recognize that there are some genres with which I’m not a natural fit. If you’re working on commercial-oriented pop music, I’m probably not the best choice. I can make your work zing, and make it radio-friendly, but my goal is to make timeless records, not flavor-of-the-week unit-shifters appealing largely to bean-counters and dumbasses.
On the other hand, if you want to make art that smart people can enjoy, let’s talk.
I also don’t rely too heavily on bog-standard effects like reverb, preferring instead an up-front sound, with wide stereo spread and more creative effects to place the listener inside the recording and immerse them in a fantastic imaginary world of your making. I’ll often use effects like reverb sparingly in order to position instruments in space and give your recordings dimension. However, if you’re making dream-pop or shoegazey music, I know where 11 is on the reverb dial, and I’m not at all afraid to use it.
What else can I do for you?
Besides audio, some of the other things I can do for you include album covers & artwork, graphic design, and wholeass websites. Select an option below to know more!
